

Honest question, has DrivePulse actually done anything other than be another background task? I always turned that feature off due to its lack of useful features and the added strain on the drives. I am waiting on the new Mac Pro, but it kinda sucks that I'm sitting here stuck with half-functional software for the time being.įirst of all, this situation sucks. Their support is terrible, and sometimes I'm not sure if the software even does what it says it does. I just wanted to warn anyone else in this situation, and advise against using Drive Genius. Without automatic scans, the app is pretty much useless to me. I was never given any warning that this version was no longer compatible. They would not send me a link to version 5.2 (no longer listed on their website), nor issue a refund. Their support would not budge and kept telling me "it is compatible." It does not show Yosemite as compatible on their website as it did when I first purchased. What they neglected to tell me was in this version, Drive Pulse does not work on Yosemite! Manual scans are the only option. I contacted their support and they had me uninstall version 5.2, and install 5.3. Entering the license and selecting activate did nothing. It would not "open," only pop up with the authorization window to enter the license. Today, my Drive Genius software begin acting strange. I use Drive Genius as it monitors for hard drive errors in the background automatically using a feature called "Drive Pulse."

It is important for me to constantly monitor my hard drives, as the studio I work in records audio and edits 7 days a week. I am an audio engineer that still uses a 2009 Mac Pro with Yosemite, as that's the newest OS Pro Tools 11 supports.
